The next day (we'd tranced on the boats), the Eladrin among us (so me, L n Cookie) had shifted into winter season, for expressing our mourning over losing Rob the previous day. Alice seemed a bit confused over this, so we explained how our seasons worked, n D. said xe hoped Rob'd found a place in Arcadia or Mount Celestia maybe. Which confused Alice further, so D. went on giving her a lecture on planar topology. They went on talking bout Alice's past then, how she'd lived in a burrow w a family'a foxes n such.

The lake wasn't really a single continguous lake, there was more like, a lotta larger bodies'a water connected by smaller streams w small isles n such separating them. At some point, we got into a narrow area w rock spikes protruding from the walls n the ground. We managed navigating the Kuo-Toa boat thru't one piece, but Hemeth's boat got damaged a bit. Thankfully, D. had a spell for repairing all the holes.

The others wanted'a get a break from being on the boats all the time, n a few days later, we did find a larger island w mushrooms growing on't where we could rest for a day or so. Hemeth said they could be used both as fuel for a campfire n as food, so we collected a bit'a those. L n D. meanwhile also were busy collecting some materials for some magic crafting they wanted'a do (D. wanted'a make her spellbook more durable), n they finished doing so that day, so we all got together n tried crafting the thing (which worked!). Tired from the work, we then built the campfire. Alice lit't n made the flames appear in fox-shape by casting spells on't. We wanteda roast the mushrooms, but didn't really've anything for holding them over the fire, so we ended up just conjuring spectral hands for holding them over there. After we'd eaten, D. read a goodnight story for Cookie n Alice, n Alice fell asleep on D.'s lap.

The next day, we spotted a shipwreck up ahead. L thought we should be cautious 'f we didn't want our boats ending up wrecked as well, but Moriko was already swimming up ahead, n moments later, she came back, apparently having been ambushed by more'a these ray-like creatures. As F. healed Morikos wounds, L spoke w the rays, tryna convince them they shouldn't fight us, but was apparently ignored. She knocked onea them unconscious while my bow n D.'s dagger conjuration severely wounded several others. Alice also shot several'a them, forcing them'a withdraw. As they did, one'a them pointed out they'd just been defending their territory n that we missed their markings, apparently.

We steered the boats closer'a the wreck, carefully, not wantinga disturb them in their habitat; we just wanteda see what sorta markings we might've missed. Indeed, L saw some scratches n the like on the wood, so we made sure we told everyone they should stay away from these sorta things in the future. But, apparently, the creatures were all gone, n well, we figured there might be some loot in that ship that us humanoids could use while they prolly wouldn'tve much use for't. So, Moriko swam ahead, exploring one half. She found some healing potions there, as well as some earrings n a strange trinket. D. identified both'a these as magical – the earrings would let ya form a bond w another creature that relayed sensory information, n the trinket granted some minor benefits whenever the stars aligned in ur favour. We figured L should get the trinket n Alice might benefit most from the earrings, so she could connect w Moriko. There also was a cutlass — w L being the main light sword user among us, she got that, too, while she lent Sarith her other scimitar. Meanwhile, L explored the other half, but didn't find anything. I found't strange that like, the entire half'a that ship was empty, so, while I didn't wanna get wet, I felt I might've a better eye for treasure than L would. D. also thought I might find sth, so I swam over there n, indeed, I did! There was a blue trenchcoat there, along w a lotta coins. Back on the boat, I dried myself off again, n D. identified the trenchcoat, too. It'd function just as well as my leather armour for protection, and, it had a hidden pocket that could be toggled between being invisible n visible by tapping't in a specific pattern. That sounded fun, so I took that, gave Eldeth my old armour, n on we went, ready for more adventures on the lake.
